PAID SUMMER EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY WITH BLOOMBERG PHILANTHROPIES – MENTORSHIP

The Bloomberg Arts Mentors program is a paid summer internship (June-August) for post-grad and undergraduate college students with a strong interest in the arts and culture of New York City. This is an excellent opportunity for students who would like to gain experience in arts and educational program management and guidance for teens as they prepare to transition to college.

The program is sponsored by Bloomberg Philanthropies and the New York City cohort is administered by the Studio Institute, a nonprofit organization that is committed to apprenticeship-based learning, professional development for teachers, visual arts curricula, and sharing arts education research with communities nationwide. Studio Institute partners with a broad range of arts and cultural institutions to provide meaningful career training and expose interns to the multiple professional pathways in the arts. (See page two for a sample of our partnering organizations.)

Mentors support virtual classes (and some in-person support if conditions allow) and oversight to rising senior high school students who will be 1) interning at arts organizations around the city and 2) participating in college support and professional development workshops and 3) attending (virtual and in-person, when possible) arts and cultural field trips across the five boroughs.
