The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center Seeks Network Coordinator (NYC)

The Network Coordinator is responsible for the support, coordination, implementation and maintenance of The Center’s management of The New York State LGBT Health and Human Services Network (“the Network”), a coalition of organizations providing LGBT health and human services across the state. These services will: administer and organize the Network; assess, assemble and disseminate information and solutions identified by The Network; facilitate and serve on working groups, task forces and advisory bodies and engage New York State government officials and agencies; develop and organize Network health campaigns, advocacy events, retreats and planning events.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Meet agency administrative requirements, quality assurance, accurate outcome monitoring and compliance with funding requirements, and program planning requirements, preparation of statistical and program reports, and other program documentation.
  • Assist in the development and lead the coordination of Network services and operations including executing all program activities, all related materials, reporting functions and programming.
  • Coordinate the technical assistance services with the consultants while serving as The Network liaison for LGBT cultural competency technical assistance with state agencies.
  • Work with the Director of The Network to administer, support and organize The Network; assess, assemble and disseminate information and solutions identified by The Network
  • Organize, attend and follow up on The Network’s regular monthly, committee and plan team meetings, and conduct site visits to Network member organizations across New York State
  • Reach out to prospective new members and process related applications
  • Coordinate statewide needs assessments including policy analysis and writing comprehensive policy recommendations
  • Coordinate and deliver technical assistance projects, campaigns, conferences, reports and materials; and develop and organize Network health campaigns, advocacy events, retreats and planning events.
  • Maintain mechanisms for Network communication online groups, conference calls, contact information for all Network members and work with communications to maintain The Network’s website presence is up-to-date.
  • Coordinate the collection of data, writing, production and distribution of the annual data from Network member organizations for The Network annual report.
  • Organize and facilitate the creation of materials for all in-person Network events such as the Technical Assistance Conference, the Retreat, and advocacy events, including meeting space, accommodations, meals, travel, facilitator and supplies.
  • Work with the Director of The Network and other Center staff and departments to implement collaborative services and programming and ensure effective coordination with Center services.
  • Provide cross coverage for all other Network program unit tasks and duties.
  • Preparation of monthly qualitative and quantitative reports regarding Network administration and coalition members.
  • Conduct site visits with Network staff to member organizations around the state.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a human service, business or related field preferred; Master’s a plus.
  • Frequent statewide travel.
  • Demonstrated success and experience in project coordination, working in and for coalitions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, time management and organizational skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with an ability to interact with a wide range of personalities and diverse community members.
  • Evaluation and data analysis experience strongly preferred.
  • Social media and digital campaign experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with the health and human services landscape in New York, with a particular focus on the LGBT community.
  • Familiarity with New York State and City budgeting processes, state agencies and state legislative process, human services regulations, funding and grant proposal development, as well as organizing, campaigns, and peer and volunteer management.
  • Strong leadership, administrative, organization, and written/verbal communication skills; bilingual a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a wide range of personalities.
  • Commitment to inclusive, multi-cultural programming; prior experience working with in coalitions with diverse communities and an understanding of intersectional oppressions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the issues, needs and interests of LGBT youth, adults, families and community, including knowledge of the spectrum of gender identity and transgender issues.
  • A strong commitment to the mission of The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center.
