Picture Motion Seeks Impact Campaign Coordinator (NYC)

We are looking for a rockstar, jack-of-all-trades, passionate person who is ready to take on challenging but incredibly rewarding work! The Impact Campaign Coordinator will aid Impact Campaign Managers and other members of the Picture Motion team in researching, designing and implementing campaigns to frame, market and distribute compelling films. We work primarily with award-winning filmmakers, on films that we truly believe have the potential to change the world. This film’s America Divided, Fed Up, LION, Miss Sloane, An Inconvenient Sequel, Solitary, The Zookeeper’s Wife, Finding Oscar, are just a few of our recent projects. Our clients include The Weinstein Company, National Geographic, EPIX, Participant Media, Netflix as well as award winning filmmakers and distributors. We also work with brands seeking to create positive social impact like Dick’s Sporting Goods, Red Bull, Whole Foods and Wells Fargo.

The Campaign Coordinator is responsible for aiding Campaign Managers in our New York City and Los Angeles offices in implementing and managing film campaigns. This position will work primarily with our Impact Distribution team, by providing logistical support for screening tours, but will also spend time within all divisions of the company: strategy development, partnership development, online engagement and special projects.

Must be interested in social change, activism, film, documentaries, and/or marketing.

Duties and Responsibilities

Campaign Strategy

  • Assist in research and development of social action strategies and initiatives
  • Assist in research of particular issues (we aren’t the experts in the issues raised in our films. But we are the experts in finding the experts)
  • Lead research on target campaign partners and screening hosts (non-profits, schools, influencers)
  • Manage excel sheets of partners and campaign contacts
  • Outreach and phone calls to aid in campaign strategy development

Campaign Delivery

  • Research and outreach to potential screening hosts
  • Manage relationships with screening hosts
  • Oversee screening campaign logistics: manage the shipping, invoicing, campaign files and spreadsheets
  • Provide general support for managing and implementing the film’s impact campaign
  • Research and outreach to potential campaign partners (non-profit organizations etc.), via phone and email
  • Campaign materials: Assist in the development of the relevant materials (ie. discussion guides, pitch documents, powerpoint presentations, postcards)
  • Monitor progress and evaluate performance of the campaign; aid in drafting weekly updates for campaign manager
  • Data management: maintain records of all contacts, shipping, invoicing, etc.

Company Support

  • Participate in internal brainstorms, team building opportunities and after-work events
  • Write occasional blog posts for Picture Motion website
  • Stay informed on latest trends, issues, tools, technologies and case studies to support campaign work
  • Scheduling internal and external calls and meetings
  • Attend and participate in weekly campaign meetings in addition to Picture Motion weekly meetings
  • Aid in New York office organization and administration

Qualifications

  • Detail oriented, can handle event logistics with many moving parts
  • Must be highly organized and love spreadsheets
  • Must be able to work well with others – we’re a small team!
  • Strong multi-tasker, thrives in fast paced environments
  • A self-starter, takes initiative and is highly motivated
  • Ability to self manage
  • Must have strong and polished interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent phone skills: Confident on the phone and with cold calling.
  • Creative, strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Bachelor degree preferred but not required
  • 0-2 years relevant internship or work experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Drive
  • The ideal candidate will have previous experience in community organizing, film marketing, communications, non-profits, events planning or activism
  • Must believe in the power of film to create social change
  • Must be able to attend screenings and events happening after work and on weekends

  • Regularly uses Paypal, Drive, Dropbox or similar.
  • Flexible; possessing the ability to wear different “hats” on short notice
  • Interested and passionate in particular social issues
