As an intern at NJ Transit, you will oversee projects from concepts to completion. Our interns step away from the regular sitting at the desk to having the opportunity at hands-on experience with several other business units within NJ Transit. Our ideal candidate is passionate about learning and using creative solutions to make an impact on the lives of others every day.
Objective of this role:
- Plan, build and test software products that ensure the secure, cost-effective and elastic adoption and usage of AWS, Azure and GCP
- Shadowing a Sr. Engineer and then participating in hands on work for the project as knowledge base is built (i.e. writing code/deploying infrastructure)
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
- Interact with engineering teams across Information Technology
Skills and Qualifications:
- Working towards a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems STEM (Junior, or Graduate Student)
- Familiar with one or more programming languages
- Experience with server operating systems, networking, and Linux OS’s
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure, and Google Public Cloud, basic software engineering concepts
- Able to learn and apply new technologies quickly along with good written and verbal communications
- Other job responsibilities as required
