As an intern at NJ Transit, you will oversee projects from concepts to completion. Our interns step away from the regular sitting at the desk to having the opportunity at hands-on experience with several other business units within NJ Transit. Our ideal candidate is passionate about learning and using creative solutions to make an impact on the lives of others every day.
Objective of this role:
- Analyze and track the spending of all Sandy Resilience projects and their budgets
- Follow up with Project Managers on any issues or discrepancies found
- Create accounting journal entries to allocate project cost
- Troubleshoot, project finances and reconcile budget variances
- Special assignments as needed for FTA (Federal Transit Administration), OIG (Office of Inspector General), NJDOT (New Jersey Department of Transportation)
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient to advanced knowledge of Excel
- Basic knowledge of accounting
- Excellent communication skills
- Sophomore or Junior in college working towards a bachelor’s in Business, Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, and/or
- In Office /Remote Option Available
