WE ACT for Environmental Justice (WE ACT) is a 501 (C)(3) environmental justice organization. Our mission is to build healthy communities by assuring that people of color and/or low-income participate meaningfully in the creation of sound and fair environmental health and protection policies and practices. We are dedicated to building community power to fight environmental racism and improve environmental health, protection and policy in communities of color. To accomplish our mission we engage in community organizing, community-based research, education/training, and community-driven advocacy campaigns to change public policy.
WE ACT seeks an energetic self-starter to fill our Bi-Lingual Spanish Community Organizer position. The successful candidate should be dedicated to raising public awareness of environmental justice issues affecting underserved populations and minorities in New York City. The organizer will work with WE ACT’s organizing team to develop and implement an organizing and outreach plan for our Northern Manhattan Climate Action plan or WE ACT for Healthy Homes campaign.
