Directors Guild of America Seeks Field Representative

Through the collective voice of more than 17,000 members, the Directors Guild of America (DGA) helps empower Directors and the Directorial team by striving to protect and enhance their legal and artistic rights, contend for their creative freedom, and strengthen their ability to develop meaningful and credible careers. The DGA’s members include directors, unit production managers, assistant directors, associate directors, stage managers, and production associates, who work in feature film, television, commercials, and documentaries.

The Directors Guild of America is currently accepting resumes for a Field Representative. The Field Representative is responsible for building a strong DGA presence at the worksite, developing member leaders, building strategic relationships, and enforcing DGA collective bargaining agreements. This role may additionally involve working with and developing member-led committees.

Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of three years of union or entertainment industry experience, with a particular emphasis on knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and organizing. Candidates must have exceptional communication, interpersonal relations, and analytical skills.

The position involves evening and weekend work and requires flexibility in hours. Although based primarily in New York, the position will regularly require out-of-state travel to DGA projects in the eastern region. Candidate must have and maintain a valid New York driver’s license, auto insurance, and an automobile for business use. A background check is required.
