NYC Office of Labor Relations Seeks Labor Relations Analyst

Job Description

The duties of this position include:

–  Assist in the negotiation and administration of collective bargaining agreements.
–  Calculate wage and benefit costs for use in negotiations, impasse arbitration and related proceedings.
–  Conduct wage and benefit surveys and analyze the data.
–  Research data and prepare charts and graphs as needed.
–  Work on special projects and prepare reports and studies as needed.

Minimum Qual Requirements

 

1. A master’s degree from an accredited college in business or public administration, economics, labor or industrial relations, statistics, operations research or a closely related field; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in labor research and analysis, employee benefit design and evaluation, compensation analysis, labor economics, economic planning, or a related area; or
3. Education and/or experience equivalent to “1” or “2” above. However, all candidates must possess a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college.
SPECIAL NOTE:
To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level II, individuals must have, after meeting the minimum requirements, one year of additional professional experience as described in “2” above.

 

Preferred Skills

 

Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of labor relations, mathematical analysis and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.  A test may be given at the interview to determine the candidates level of computer and analytical skill.

 

Additional Information

 

PLEASE NOTE:

SALARY BEING OFFERED FOR NEW  HIRE IS  $56,434 OR  THE  INCUMBENT MINIMUM  OF  $60,858 (WHICHEVER IS APPLICABLE).

Residency Requirement

 

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
