Full-time, short term coordinator, Now through Sept 15, 2018

Peoples Climate Movement-NY is seeking an energetic and organized person to coordinate our efforts for a mass demonstration on climate on Sept. 6 in Lower Manhattan, and related activities.  The coordinator will focus on expanding participation in the coalition’s planning process and work closely with several functioning task-oriented committees. The overall goal is to build the strongest turnout of New Yorkers for the Sept. 6th Rise for Climate, Jobs and Justice demonstration.  People applying for this jobshould have:

• general experience organizing
• experience in organizing mobilizations & public protests
• knowledge of social media
• familiarity with progressive activist organizations

Compensation and working arrangement:

Paid as a consultant at the rate of $4-5,000 per month. Working out of an office in Chelsea with coalition leadership and interns.
