The United Auto Workers (UAW) union is seeking a full-time intern to assist research analysts in the Research Department in Detroit, Michigan.
Research interns contribute to the department by understanding companies and the industries in which they operate; compiling and analyzing data; and using legal, regulatory and legislative strategies to help build power for working people.
The goal of the internship is to provide individuals valuable work experience directed towards improving the lives of working people.
Ideal applicants will have:
· Bachelor’s degree
· Strong analytical, writing and communication skills
· Quantitative skills
· Strong attention to detail and prior research experience
· Good computer skills, including experience with databases and spreadsheets
· Proficiency in another language (a plus, but not required)
· Strong commitment to social and economic justice, especially in labor issues
