New York City has the largest and fastest growing participatory budgeting process in the United States. The initiative is an increased opportunity for community engagement, but for very small budgetary amounts—how do elected officials, community advocates assess value of this project? Speakers include:

  • Celina Su, Political Science, CUNY
  • Councilmember Jumaane Williams, District 45
  • Nando Rodriguez, the Brotherhood/Sister Sol, 2015 District 7 Winning Project
  • Gianpaolo Baiocchi, NYU-Gallatin, co-founder Participatory Budgeting Project
