Join us on Wednesday, December 2, for an exciting and intimate conversation with Michael Javen Fortner, author of the recently published Black Silent Majority: The Rockefeller Drug Laws and the Politics of Punishment. Professor Fortner joins historian and CUNY distinguished professor, Professor Joshua B. Freeman for Criminal Justice Reform: From the Black Silent Majority to Black Lives Matter, about the creation and consequences of the Rockefeller Drug Laws.

Michael Javen Fortner is assistant professor and academic director of the MA in Urban Studies and the BA in Urban and Community Studies at the CUNY School of Professional Studies Murphy Institute.

Joshua B. Freeman is Distinguished Professor of History at Queens College, CUNY Graduate Center, and the CUNY School of Professional Studies Murphy Institute.
