On Wednesday, March 25th, we are encouraged to remember the victims of the 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire tragedy in which 146 garment workers, most of them young immigrant women, lost their lives. This event was a pivotal moment in U.S. labor history that led to historic fire safety and labor law reforms.
