ASSOCIATION FOR NEIGHBORHOOD AND HOUSING DEVELOPMENT OPENING FOR A PART-TIME TRAININGS COORDINATOR

ANHD seeks a Part Time Affordable Housing Institute Trainings Coordinator (with potential for Full time) to help manage our training series on affordable housing development, preservation, and management.

The Position:

The Association for Neighborhood & Housing Development (ANHD) – a member-association of 80+ neighborhood-based affordable housing and community development groups and one of NYC’s leading policy/advocacy organizations on housing and economic development  – seeks a Part Time Affordable Housing Institute Trainings Coordinator (with potential for full time employment) to help manage our training series on affordable housing development, preservation, and management.

The position will work closely with ANHD’s Director of Capacity Building and Senior Manager for Housing and Development to help identify training and workshops that will allow ANHD members to do their work better. They will have access to existing instructors we have relationships with, and be supported to build new partnerships with high-quality trainers. In the coming year, important training topics we know already will be needed to support members include: LIHTC syndication, other tax abatements and incentives, green buildings, zoning analysis, 421a and preservation strategies.

Responsibilities: 

The Part Time Affordable Housing Institute Trainings Coordinator will:

  • Work with ANHD staff to set a rooster of 18-20 workshops throughout 2021 (2-3 training sessions per month) with content regarding affordable housing development, commercial development, asset and property management and facility maintenance.
  • Reach out to and work with consultants (ANHD’s existing partners, or new partners) to offer workshops to students, including scheduling trainers.
  • Work with ANHD’s Communications Manager to market training in bi-weekly eblast, posts to the website, and on social media.
  • Conduct some targeted outreach to former students and ANHD members.
  • Attend and facilitate training sessions as needed (online/ZOOM)
  • Prepare and send training materials as needed.
  • Send and analyze training evaluations to help improve the program consistently.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge about affordable housing development and the Community Development field.
  • Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple trainings simultaneously
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management and other departments
  • Proficient using Zoom
  • Previous experience  as a trainer, training facilitator, or organizing multiple training events, is not required, but strongly preferred.

Salary dependent on experience and hours agreed upon. The range for this position posting assumes part time compensation between $17,500 – $25,000.

Note: This position is temporarily remote due to COVID-19. Applicants will need to be available to work from ANHD’s office in Manhattan at the conclusion of ANHD’s work from home status, timing TBD.
