STARR SERVICES FOR SENIORS AND RECENT GRADUATES INITIATIVE

PART – TIME GRADUATE ASSISTANT 

The Starr Career Development Center (Starr) at Baruch College, City University of New York is now accepting applications for a Part Time Graduate Assistant position. This is a grant funded temporary position with no benefits, which requires approximately two full eight-hour days (7 paid hours per day with 1 hour of unpaid lunch) or 14 hours/week. Part Time Graduate Assistant

We are looking to hire an enthusiastic Graduate Assistant to join our Starr Services for Graduating Seniors and Recent Graduates Program.  This is a program focused on giving seniors and recent graduate the information and skills necessary to obtain employment upon graduation from Baruch College.  We are open to graduate students from a variety of disciplines, such as Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Psychology, Counseling, Higher Education, Marketing and other business-related fields.

In the Part-Time GA role you will work on a variety of tasks related to both the Starr Services for Graduating Seniors and Recent Alumni Program and other Starr Career Development Center operations.  As part of the project team, you may be asked to assist with marketing initiatives, communication efforts, logistics, administration, and resume and cover letter reviews.  You also will be asked to help out at workshops/career fairs, to prepare/disseminate materials, assist with Zoom rooms, and other programmatic tasks.  You may be asked to assist with other career-related initiatives that help Baruch students in their future careers.

Sample responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key member of the Starr Services for Graduating Seniors and Recent Graduates Program team
  • Act as a project manager for upcoming events and future initiatives
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to increase the visibility of the Starr Services for Graduating Seniors and Recent Graduates Program
  • Track and report social media metrics after launch of communication efforts
  • Assist with generation/distribution handouts, flyers, and brochures
  • Manage data collected from Qualtrics and utilize Excel to organize program logistics
  • Create reports and use tables and charts in Excel provide assist with reporting function

 Requirements: Obtained a bachelor’s degree with one year of professional experience (or combination of internships) in the related field.  Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Counseling, Psychology, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Higher Education, Marketing or other related field preferred.  Basic understanding of marketing in higher education setting would be helpful.  Proficient in Microsoft Office and Qualtrics (preferred) programs. Candidates must have excellent time management, administration, and organization skills.   They should be able to multitask and work in deadline-driven environment.

Salary:   hourly rate of $15.61
