Worker-Driven Social Responsibility Network (WSRN) Seeks Director of Strategic Partnerships

The Worker-driven Social Responsibility Network (WSRN) focuses on ending abuses against workers in corporate supply chains in the United States and globally.  Network members are committed to a worker-driven social responsibility model that prioritizes enforcement of legally binding agreements and worker leadership in the design and implementation of social responsibility programs. The goals of the Network are to:

  • Promote and build demand in key constituencies and workers’ organizations for the WSR model in corporate supply chains
  • Support grassroots worker and human rights organizations seeking to establish a WSR program in global supply chains through consultation, tools, shared learning and technical assistance.
  • Amplify and strengthen existing efforts through coordination, information sharing and collective action.

Position Overview and Responsibilities

The Director of Strategic Partnerships supports grassroots worker and human rights organizations seeking to design and implement a Worker-driven Social Responsibility (WSR) program in corporate supply chains. This includes identifying possible practitioner organizations and assessing the feasibility of WSR adaptation in that context. Support for feasible projects may be in the form of consultation, tools, and technical assistance for all stages of a WSR adaptation, including program design, implementation guidance, and impact evaluation.

Additionally, the Director of Strategic Partnerships will also work closely with the Director of Outreach and Communications and the Director of Transnational Strategy to develop the strategic plan for the WSRN, coordinate activities, and evaluate the program of the WSRN.  The Director of Strategic Partnerships will also represent the WSRN in public presentations, including conferences and media, as needed.

Finally, the Director of Strategic Partnerships will support fundraising efforts of the WSRN, including funder cultivation, grant writing and reporting, and maintenance of the WSRN budget.

The WSRN is anchored by the National Economic and Social Rights Initiative (NESRI).  All WSRN staff are employed and supervised by NESRI; work priorities are set by the WSRN Coordinating Committee. This position can be based out of NESRI’s New York office or conducted remotely.
