AVP is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to coordinate NCAVP, including participation in the National LGBTQ Intimate Partner Violence Institute. The National LGBTQ Intimate Partner Violence Institute is a collaboration between NCAVP and the North West Network and is focused on improving research, practice, and policy regarding intimate partner violence in LGBTQ communities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, national education and training support on LGBTQ and HIV-related violence, NCAVP coalition coordination, and coordination of NCAVPs work within the National LGBTQ Intimate Partner Violence Institute.
This position is funded as part of a grant award. Funding is currently available through 2021, with annual renewal.
National travel required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated commitment to working to end violence within and against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and HIV-affected communities.
- Demonstrated commitment to anti-oppression work.
- Demonstrated experience in project management with multiple project partners.
- Knowledge of broad range of LGBTQ hate violence, intimate partner violence, and sexual violence issues.
- Knowledge of federal legislative and administrative policy processes strongly preferred.
- 1-2 years coalition coordination or participation experience.
- 1-2 years facilitation and curriculum development experience.
- 1-2 years community organizing experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
