- Helping to develop and advocate for the Federation’s SRHR and health disparities policy agenda (Federal, NY, CT, FL);
- Coordinating regular communications with member agencies, community advocates and coalition members;
- Writing advocacy letters, position papers and press statements;
- Monitoring and assessing the impact of local, state and federal developments on Latino community with regards to reproductive rights, and other health disparities;
- Serve as an advocate and HF representative in policy forums, coalition meetings, including potentially providing testimony before legislative and regulatory bodies; and
- Managing the logistics of advocacy conferences, rallies, meetings, conference calls and coalition-related events.
Requirements: Minimum of a BA/BS degree and at least three years of professional experience, preferably in reproductive rights, health public policy advocacy and/or community organizing. Experience building and leading alliances with strategic partners is desired. Candidate must also have a strong ability to develop work plans, manage budgets, set deadlines, oversee multiple projects and duties simultaneously, and prioritize assignments. Excellent, well-developed verbal and writing skills are essential. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills and a demonstrated commitment to Latino community are necessary. Ideal applicants will be efficient, results-oriented with high energy and exhibit an exceptional ability to work with others.
