The IAM Strategic Resources Department is responsible for providing information and developing strategies in support of organizing, bargaining, public policy, and educational activities at all levels of our union. We are seeking a Research Analyst who can use his/her skills to handle a wide range of responsibilities and work in a variety of situations.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Researching and writing employer profiles and industry overviews
- Managing proprietary databases
- Creating reports from proprietary and public databases
- Providing research and advice on compensation, employee benefits, economic/industry trends, and public policy issues
- Analyzing collective bargaining agreements and labor costs
- Preparing materials, reports and presentations for use in organizing, bargaining, and training
- Teaching classes at IAM training center
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in economics, finance, labor studies, business or relevant field
- Knowledge of key union activities such as collective bargaining and organizing
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
- Ability to communicate complex issues in an understandable manner
- Must be able to:
o Work in groups and independently
o Meet tight deadlines
o Simultaneously work on multiple projects o Be creative
o Learn new skills - Some travel is required.
Job is at the IAM headquarters in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
