The 32BJ Training Fund is a joint labor-management partnership that offers training to members of the labor union 32BJ SEIU at no cost. The fund is supported by contributions negotiated between 32BJ SEIU and participating employers. Our mission is to train every participant to grow to the next level. Under the supervision of the Director, the LMS & Technology Manager supervises a team of five and oversees the operational and administrative functions of the Training Fund, including technology, infrastructure & business processes, research and evaluation, records and registration, communications, online course registration and management, and quality assurance.
Oversight Responsibilities:
- Technology: Manage existing and incorporate new technologies into the Fund. Manage technology staff and liaise with IT to achieve organizational goals.
- Learning Management System: Lead the implementation of a new Learning Management System and maintain all aspects of the system after go-live.
- Infrastructure & Business Processes: Design and implement systems, websites, business processes, communication protocols, staff trainings, etc. to increase organizational efficiency and member satisfaction.
- Records & Registration: Handle the design, implementation, and operation of all Training Fund systems, highlighted by core systems that manage the registration and placement of all students.
- Electronic & Automatic Communication: Implement and manage a variety of automated systems to inform our membership of training opportunities and active registrations.
- Online Course Registration & Management: Identify and launch online courses in topic areas consistent with members’ job responsibilities. Handle on-boarding process, follow-up to members who don’t complete, communication of scores to LMS and vendor management.
- Research & Evaluation: Design, deliver, institutionalize, and analyze results of rigorous and academically valid tools to assess the effectiveness of programs and services in the context of student learning outcomes and the Training Fund’s strategic plan.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain an intensive quality assurance program for all LMS and other projects in the department; manage weekly meetings where scores are delivered to relevant staff and managers.
Technical Skills:
- Superior technical skills, HTML, LMS, Online Learning, Qlikview, C#,ASP .NET, DotNetNuke
- Experience designing and implementing Learning Management Systems
- Data Analysis
Qualifications and Core Competencies:
- 5 years management experience in an educational setting
