Program Specialist I – Non-Bargaining
Workplace Skills Department
Long Term Temporary – 330 Location
Responsibilities
- Provide services to the Workplace Skills department to assist ti design and develop training programs and staff development services to various facilities, and assist in obtaining external resources to support the Funds training efforts.
- Assist in program design and development; attend advisory committee meetings
- Design, write and edit curriculum for in service and short term training programs that were determined through the advisory committee and RFA process
- Provide training and staff development services to various facilities
- Conduct and facilitate centralized workshops for union members
- Monitor and work with consultants as needed for special training projects
- Develop and maintain training materials of lending library
- Facilitate labor-management training and education committee meetings
- Assist in research and program design for proposals to obtain external funding
- Assist in grant writing, editing of proposals and development of partnerships with external stakeholders
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education, Social Work or relevant experience
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in higher education or workforce development in nursing homes
- Experience in designing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing home training programs
- Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based practices of long-term care including quality of clinical care and quality of life standards
- Knowledge of adult education principles, best practices, career/educational pathways, and degree programs in the health care field
- Experience as a teacher or trainer preferred
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and Publisher
- Excellent writing, interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to work well independently and in teams
- Must meet performance standards including attendance and punctuality
- Good organizational skills
- Flexible and able to work well under pressure, multi-task, establish priorities, and constructive program planning
- Ability to travel to various locations in the NY area
- Available to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends as required
