The Working World Seeks Administrative Associate (NYC)

Since 2004, The Working World has supported more than 800 projects with over 200 businesses – lending more than $4 million dollars and creating hundreds of jobs in the process. We have over 98% repayment rates – unheard of in our industry. The Position:

The Administrative Associate will be responsible for maintaining records and files including our bookkeeping system, answering and directing general inquiries and assisting Lead Office Administrator with other tasks to support our growing organization. This position will report to the Lead Office Administrator.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintain organization’s bookkeeping system in Quickbooks and assist Director of Finance and Operations and Lead Office Administrator with other financial and tax reporting requirements
  • Assist Program Team in recordkeeping and data collection
  • Manage conference calendar and registration deadlines
  • Respond to general inquiries by phone and email
  • Pay and track invoices
  • Prepare and edit documents
  • Maintain files and records including internal CRM and NYC Department of Small Business Services CRM
  • Assist with event logistics and planning
  • Monitor and maintain office supplies and equipment
  • Perform banking duties such as depositing checks
  • Collect and distribute inbound mailings

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree with 2+ years of professional experience in an office support role
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, rapidly growing organization
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google Drive
  • Bookkeeping experience a plus, but not required
  • Interest in cooperative development and in working with a global organization
