Day Care Council of New York Seeks Senior Research Analyst (P/T)

The Day Care Council of New York, a membership organization for nonprofit child care programs in New York City, seeks a part-time senior research analyst to work with the Early Childhood Employment Partnership program and the Labor Relations and Mediation program. The prospective candidate will perform the following tasks:

  • Manage the DCCNY’s employment platform on the website including emailing information and updates to employers and job seekers, responding to queries, troubleshooting problems for registered employers and job seekers, assisting individual job seekers, development of relationships with existing employers using the website and outreach to appropriate new employers. Work with developers and colleagues to add any updates that can improve the functionality of the website.
  • Assist with the organizing and co-hosting of DCCNY’s employment and training forums.
  • Assist with the ongoing development of DCCNY’s work with institutions of higher learning and vocational education organizations to advance career opportunities.
  • Provide research and analysis to DCCNY on current early childhood education issues. Work with the executive staff to help support a variety of public policy and labor initiatives. Maintain knowledge and awareness of current child care issues within NYC, and how that impacts the Council’s role.  
  • Prepare presentations on research analysis to member agencies and various governmental bodies when needed.

Qualifications

The prospective candidate should currently be enrolled in, or have a Master’s degree in social science, public policy or public administration research or related education field.  A minimum of two years of work experience in nonprofit organizations is required. The prospective candidate must also have excellent written, verbal, presentation and organizational skills. This is a part-time (25 hours) three day per week position, Tuesday – Thursday with a salary range of $30,000 – $33,000 depending upon experience.
