Citizens Budget Commission Seeks Economic Development & Housing Policy Associate

The Citizens Budget Commission is a nonpartisan, nonprofit watchdog group dedicated to improving the finances and services of New York City and New York State government. We provide analysis and comment on the budgets of the State, City, and public authorities like the MTA and Port Authority. We also produce policy reports to inform the public about state and local government, advance ideas for solving policy problems innovatively, and engage elected officials to serve the public interest.

We seek a policy associate to join an experienced and growing policy team to analyze economic development and/or housing policy proposals, respond to media requests, and author evidence-based research publications.

Most successful candidates work well under minimal supervision and will have at least 3 years of professional experience; a masters degree in public policy, public administration, economics, political science, or related fields; familiarity with New York State and local government; experience using New York State, New York City, and federal data sources; and excellent oral and written communications skills.

Financial modeling and statistical skills are a plus.
