As reported by a trusted colleague and attendee, Pacyinz Lyfoung:
I have been really inspired by this webinar, “Introduction to Radical Municipalism”, one new tool for me among many tools, which emphasized:
1) that any group engaged in collective action is practicing democracy and 2) that in the fragmented universe of progressive movements, being able to create chambers of compassion beyond chambers of commerce is critical.
As a cooperative legal practitioner and activist, I have used these teachings to visualize what my work could look like in the coming years and to motivate my network of cooperative professionals to mobilize around 1) our own experiment in democracy as an organization, and 2) our aspirations and responsibilities as service providers who play roles in the democratic development and self-determination of the communities we work with.
Thank you for your reflection, Pacyinz Lyfoung, cooperative law movement lawyer at The Inclusive Economies Law Practice, SELC Fellow, and steward of the Cooperative Professionals Guild.
