Position Responsibilities:  LAANE’s Finance and Administration Department is responsible for all aspects of the organization’s financial, administrative and office management functions.   The Department is key to ensuring that LAANE’s program staff have the resources they need to achieve LAANE’s goals and that the organization is well-managed and sustainable.  Under the supervision of the Finance Director, the Administrative

Assistant/Bookkeeper is responsible for the following duties, among others:
·         Accounts payable including reconciling credit card accounts
·         Handling and screening staff reimbursement requests.
·         Preparing financial reports on request.
·         Filling in essential functions when the Finance Director is absent including payroll.
·         Assisting with orientation for new staff members.
·         Assisting staff with travel arrangements.
·         Managing supplies and the use of conference rooms.
·         Keeping the office and common areas neat and organized.
·         Trouble shooting equipment (Fax, copiers, postage meter)
·         Placing orders for supplies and for equipment service
Qualifications:   Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to economic justice and the labor movement.  Applicant must have experience with Quick Books, Microsoft Office programs and office management.  Applicant must have an ability to manage work, maintain files in complete and accessible fashion, manage time effectively, handle requests, be very detail oriented and work well with a team.  Occasional evenings and weekends required.
